Candle Care

It is really important to burn candles safely and securely. There are a few key things you need to know to keep your Meltdown Candles in the best condition.

We recommend trimming the candle wick to between 0.5cm and 1cm before burning and to cease burning the candle when less than 1cm of wax is left at the bottom of the vessel.

Try to keep your candle out of windy or drafty places as this can cause the flame to jump around a bit and is a potential fire hazard. Please make sure you extinguish your candle before putting the lid on.

Avoid burning for more than 4 hours at a time.

When your candle is at the end of its life our jars can be re-used to keep small objects or trinkets in and the larger vessels make great brush & pencil holders. To remove the excess wax in the bottom simply fill the jar with boiling water, this should melt the wax. When the water has cooled and the wax solidified you should be able to pop out the wax.

The coloured glass vessels undergo a water soluble finish which does make them prone to scratches, if you decide to recycle/reuse these vessels please be careful as wiping the jar with anything wet can deteriorate the finish. To clean the outside use only a dry cloth.
